Beautifying your Walls with Storage!

All images from Better Homes and Gardens

Storage has come a long way from consisting of square bookshelves and plain shelving from years ago. Today, organization and storage is as important as decor and often becomes the functional decoration of the room! From colorful architectural niches in the wall to hanging baskets, get inspiration to store it on your wall!

Colorful additions:

Storage on the walls is a great way to introduce colors – whether complimenting or contrasting. Use contrasting color inside of cubby hole shelving for a dynamic and eye catching design idea. Use coordinating baskets and storage bins to add another layer of visual interest to your storage wall.

Eye catching focal point: Why not transform an entire wall with functional and eye-catching storage ideas? Organization stores have a wide variety of shelving configurations to fit your design style. From traditional to ultra modern, use a wall shelving unit to intermingle decorative vases, collectibles, books and add pops of color where needed.

Wall storage should be an extension of your personality and can act as an extra piece of furniture to your space. Whether it’s as simple as shelving affixed to a wall to intricate built-ins that can transform your wall, every piece of wall storage is valuable. It helps make more room for your family to live and enjoy your home and it creates a welcoming focal point for all of your memories, decor and colorful additions.

Enjoy creating beautiful ‘wallscapes’ of storage!

Vila Sofa – A Furniture Store Like No Other

All Images: Tjep

When is the last time you have been to a furniture store that combines innovative furniture ideas with affordable pricing and everything can ship to your home within 48 hours?  I visited the Amsterdam furniture store and knew I needed to share this clever concept for a store with you. If you love Ikea, then Vila Sofa is for you.

What I loved about it most was the modern and cleaned lined interiors with bold colors and still being housed in a warehouse atmosphere was a challenge for the design firm, Tjep. As I walked through the rooms it resembles an adult-sized toy store with bold transportation logos and symbols. What a fun place to purchase furniture and see how store interiors can be engaging similar to your home.

“The conceptual solution was surprisingly simple and logic: a combination of warehouse esthetics and home esthetics. This resulted for example into materials such as plywood usually used for crates combined with high-end glossy finishes. The symbols used in transportation and packaging have been metamorphosed into decorative elements that form room dividers that are arranged to organize the space and routing. “… Cool Hunting

I hope you will be able to visit this innovative store and experience the creative furniture store concept. I especially love how the Vila Sofa staff helps you on handy motorized carts where they can serve each customer individually! I had a great time there; let me know if you plan to visit too.
