ELEGANT DESIGN STYLE
If you personally like glitz, glam and elegance, bathroom decor that symbolizes luxury with metals and bold geometrics are for you. Choose decorative items that show off reflectivity and opulent finishes.

Adding white to your bathroom, is another way to exude luxury, as white makes your bathroom feel spacious. An addition of a personalized shower, and a custom layout to suit your needs will make your bath area feel extra special.

ROMANTIC DESIGN STYLE
Do you enjoy soft colors, vintage charm and traditional detailing in your interiors? If so, a romantic design style may be for your bathroom. From luxurious details like a gold accented vanity, matching plumbing fixtures, and soft lines will bring the romantic out of anyone!

CONTEMPORARY DESIGN STYLE
Do you love minimalism, strong lines, and crisp geometric edges? Contemporary or modern design style incorporates all of these and more. The absence of less is more in contemporary bathrooms, and the luxurious Zen feeling of relaxation and serenity is iconic with modern bathrooms. Keep the colors natural, and reminiscent of nature for your ultimate bathroom environment.

LUXURIOUS DETAIL ADDITIONS
Regardless of your design style, there are luxury additions to make your bathroom feel and function beautifully. A simple idea like changing out your lower-end laminate finishes to mirrored cabinetry is one example of instant upgrades. Reflective surfaces, as well as cultured marble, exotic wood, and granite are just a few ways to take your boring cabinet and countertops to instant glam! If you prefer traditional and classic touches, consider using a vintage dresser or an antique table and convert it to a gorgeous vanity!

WELCOMING HOMES OF KATERINA-ERSY

I always enjoy documenting and taking pictures of the homes that I design. For each one has a unique piece of my client, as well as a charm and warmth that is distinctive to their lifestyle. It was a very hot day when I went to take photos of clients Katerina and Ersy’s homes.

Before we started taking photos we sat down in their beautiful backyard to drink iced tea. With the hot and sticky temperatures, it looked like heaven out there!

KATERINA'S HOUSE
In Katerina’s home, the white country charm of their home is inviting to all who enter. I like the open displayed cabinets that show off beautiful dinnerware, collections, and stemware.  As a designer I try to incorporate the client’s lifestyle in every piece of the home. The bright and warm colors make the small rooms feel larger and airy.
Taking advantage of plentiful sunlight and greenery views, the idea of having comfortable seating to see outside is essential. This comfortable chaise and reading light is a perfect place to greet the morning or relax after a hard day at work. Terra cotta hues, and light blue walls throughout the space make for casual interiors without feeling formal and stuffy.
In Katerina’s home, the kitchen is open to the dining and living room, shown below. Once again the large glazed doors around the room enable guests and residents to enjoy a different view to the fantastic garden, wherever they are in the room.

The bedrooms take similar cues from the rest of the home, to bring a casual bed and breakfast feel to the private areas of their home. I enjoy using white furniture to match the closets, and bed to unify the room in classic cottage style appeal.

ERSY'S HOUSE
Ersy’s house is located on the same property but in front of the swimming pool and enjoys the view from the large windows, similar to Katerina’s home.
The breathtaking views of the pool from Ersy’s home are a luxury in itself. Coupled with the large expansive windows, and light and airy colors, her home is a paradise to wake up to!
In the kitchen a similar theme of white cabinetry, and glass front upper cabinets, work nicely against the complementing wood color stained counters. Since the kitchen is small, the white finish and the wall-paneled backsplash create an enjoyable kitchen to cook in.

In the living room, a shabby chic type decor is perfect for Ersy’s relaxed lifestyle. Simple white window coverings, slipcovered furniture, and mixes of eclectic with casual compliment the poolside living everyone wishes to have.

I used decorative elements throughout the home to pull the space together, with vintage and casual mixes. This provides visual interest for guests, and gives a sense of personality.

Thank you for letting me show you Katerina & Ersy’s homes. Saying goodbye to the girls, I couldn’t resist taking a last photo of the outside view of their slice of paradise!

DECLUTTERING IS STYLE!

Regardless of how well designed your home… or how expensive your furniture and accessories you have, the ability for clutter to takeover keeps your home from being at its best.
The start of a new season is the perfect time to declutter. The effects are immediately apparent, and it gives you a sense of accomplishment. This is the perfect mindset for tackling more challenging goals throughout your home.

Stay motivated

Incorporating decluttering into your lifestyle is actually about forming a new habit, and you know how challenging that can be! The first three weeks will be difficult, but after the first month or so, you'll be over the hump. Keep decluttering in perspective: it shouldn't take over your life. It's a small, short activity that you do so your home works well and looks good, and so you have time to do what you like. Reward yourself for keeping up your organization, it will help keep you motivated.

Do one job at a time

It's easy to get pulled into another clutter zone and desert the job you started. Don't give in! Doing this will leave you with two partially decluttered areas, and it will look like you've accomplished nothing. Stick to one part of one room until it's complete.

Set a time limit
When organizing your home, don't say, “Today I'll organize the garage.” Instead, say, “I'll spend an hour on the gardening tools; next week I'll work on sports equipment.” This way, if you haven't finished in an hour, keep going, or return to the job another day. This will help you want to return to your decluttering project in the future, and complete it successfully.

Decluttering your wardrobe

Have you looked in your closet lately? Not just chucking out stuff you haven’t worn in a while but going through your closet and removing clothes that don’t flatter your coloring or body shape, personality or that doesn’t make you feel good. A thorough wardrobe decluttering should result in a wardrobe full of clothes which look AND feel great.

Bathroom baskets

Generally, bathrooms are small spaces that have to store a lot of stuff, from cleaning products and toiletries to towels and toilet paper ... and that's just the bare minimum! Take stock of the space you have and areas you aren't using. If you have small nooks by the tub or toilet, try using baskets for toilet paper or towels instead of storing everything under the sink. A Clutter-free kitchen

Organize small appliances by determining how often they're used. Items used once a month or less frequently should be kept on higher shelves or in the back of cabinets, while items used daily or weekly should be kept within reach. Not only does this make the kitchen look less cluttered, but will make cooking much easier - no more digging around for what you need, when you need it!

Kid-friendly clean ups

If children are expected to learn how to clean up after themselves, it helps to give them easy ways to do it. Children areas are ideal for decluttering because they have multiple options that look great, and kids can learn at the same time. Use low shelving and labelled storage bins for all their toys and crafts. Also consider using colorful storage to keep kids excited to want to store and stay uncluttered!  Get more ideas for organizing your kids' rooms.

Home office organization

Some days we just don't feel like working or cleaning - we've all been there. Try motivating yourself by using beautiful storage and desk accessories. Whether it's bright colors, pretty patterns or elegant designs, sometimes having gorgeous office storage is enough encouragement to keep the space clean and organized at all times! Front entry hall

The front entry of your home can be the most trafficked areas of your home, and in turn needs helpful storage, and a clutter free area to walk through. If you don't have room in your front hall for a closet, hang a peg rail. It's a quick and easy solution for the coats and bags that pile up on the floor. Consider adding a bench or mudroom seating to enable area for putting on shoes, as well as storing coats, shoes, hats, and umbrellas.

Clear out the garage

Garages often become repositories for all your odds and ends. Everything from tools and camping equipment, to sporting goods and house supplies needs a home. As you pack and stack everything in the garage, use various sized, clear storage bins for efficient organization. As a bonus, you can actually see the contents of each bin so you can find what you're looking for, when you're looking for it! Get more ideas for organizing your garage

Sorting out the laundry room

While laundry is not usually at the top of anyone’s favourite list, keeping the laundry room organized and functional is essential. When the laundry starts to pile up, the most arduous task is sorting out the lights, darks, delicates and dry clean-only items. To make life easier, set up a sorting station with containers or hampers for each type of wash.

Organizing and decluttering your home should be looked at as a way to improve your lifestyle. You and your family will be able to locate items easier, in turn saving you valuable time and will help make your home look beautiful. Use these helpful tips for decluttering throughout your home and feel the improvements in your everyday life!
